Raise the Roof

Camp Spofford at a glance...

Since 1962, Camp Spofford has existed for one purpose: to provide a place where kids, families, and churches return year after year to encounter Jesus, grow in faith together, and rest in the beauty of God’s creation. Camp Spofford has always been more than just a summer destination. It’s a launching pad for a deepening relationship with God and others.. A place where the Gospel is proclaimed and lives are changed.

For both our camps and retreats, our mission is clear: to help people know Jesus, follow Him together, and rest. By God’s grace, that mission is growing. In recent years, we’ve seen record numbers of campers, deeper connections with churches, and increasing opportunities for year-round ministry.

Over the last TWO YEARS...

Why now?

The Need

But this growth has brought us to a critical point. In the summer time we are regularly serving more guests and campers than the space was ever designed to hold. In the retreat season we can no longer grow as we reach the capacity of the Dining Hall. Tables are packed, people are both inside and outside, mealtimes are rushed, and the opportunity for connection is being squeezed out—simply because we’ve run out of room. If we don’t address this need soon, we risk losing one of the most impactful moments of camp life: the shared table. We need to make room to better serve one another and practice hospitality that leads to us working together for the truth (3 John 1:8).

This is more than a building project. It’s a ministry investment. By making room in our dining hall, we’re creating space for even more people to come to Spofford and for kids, families and churches to experience the same fellowship of believers that we read about in Acts, where the people eat together, praise God together, enjoy the favor of one another and God adds to their number (Acts 2:46-47).

If we don’t act soon, this bottleneck could hinder the very heart of what makes Camp Spofford special – life together.

You're Invited!

We believe God is calling us to take the next step—expanding our year-round impact and deepening the ways we disciple and serve. All of this begins with the dining hall. Our vision for the next 5 years includes:

  • A larger dining hall to foster connection, and make room for retreat growth.
  • More year-round beds by winterizing seasonal housing.
  • Additional staff to serve guests and expand our discipleship programming.
  • Internship housing and development to invest in the next generation of ministry leaders.

By making room, we provide space for growth, for ministry, for lives to be changed by the Gospel.

We are inviting friends of Camp Spofford—families, churches, alumni, and partners—to come alongside us in this vital step forward. Your support today is an investment in tomorrow’s discipleship, in transformed lives, and in the continued faithfulness of this ministry for generations to come.

Will you help us make room?
