The Raise the Roof Campaign will support the building of a new Camper Dining Hall! In addition to the dining hall, funds from this campaign will allow us to take care of necessary repairs and upgrades in the kitchen, add to our indoor program spaces and maintain the capital maintenance fund.

Why Build a New Dining Hall?

Our current dining hall opened in 2015, and over the past few years, we have outgrown this space. Despite having a seating capacity for approximately 250 guests, we encounter weekends in the retreat season where not everyone fits! Over the last 4 years, as Youth Camp has begun to reach full capacity, we have needed a tent to allow for outdoor seating in order to accommodate everyone.

The proposed Camper Dining Hall will increase our capacity to 350 guests! This expansion will ensure all summer visitors and campers have a place to eat. Furthermore, it will accommodate the ongoing growth we’re witnessing during our retreat season. We want meal time to be a place where people can connect with one another without feeling rushed or cramped, and we want the flexibility to do more with the meals at Camp to add to everyone’s experience.

Fundraising Goal

Right now we have set an initial goal of $500,000 for this campaign. This will fund the initial planning and design costs, the necessary upgrades to the kitchen and start saving toward the future construction costs.

The Plan

The new Camper Dining Hall will be added to the current building so we can continue to serve our meals out of one kitchen. We have made decisions on the size of the addition, the layout, and the overall function and flow of the new space. It will include additional seating and storage, and we hope to add a second floor above the new dining hall for more program space.

Our next step is to select an architect to design an addition that compliments the existing building and its surroundings. We are currently accepting proposals from local architects so we can finalize a design and begin to create a budget for the project.

What You Can Do

You can be praying for the launch of this campaign, which includes selecting an architect, going through the necessary permitting processes with both state and local officials, and raising money.
